Games like Archero

By the Lootero team. Updated .

Archero made a simple idea famous: you move with one thumb, and the moment you stop, your archer shoots the nearest enemy by itself. Every level-up gives you a choice of skills, and a run lives or dies on those picks.

These are the phone games we would hand to someone who has finished Archero and wants more of that feeling. Some keep the stop-and-shoot rule, some turn it into a horde survival game, and a few ask you to aim. Lootero is our own game, so it is on the list with a clear label, and you can weigh that pick as you like.

Short answer

  1. Archero 2

    Made by
    Habby
    On phones
    2025
    Platforms
    iPhone, Android
    Price
    Free, with in-app purchases

    Why you might like it

Archero 2 keeps the rule that made the first game work: the hero only attacks while standing still. On top of that come new heroes, new weapons and a better looking world, so it feels like a bigger version of the game you already know.

    How it differs from Archero

It is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases, like the first one. If the first game's shop and progression wore you down, this one follows the same model.

  2. Lootero

    Our game
    Made by
    Lootero (that is us)
    On phones
    November 2026
    Platforms
    iPhone, Android
    Price
    Not announced yet
Lootero's Last Stand, filmed in the game.

    Why you might like it

If you like building a run one pick at a time, Lootero has that too, in a world of its own. Each world is a floating island you open up one piece at a time. You fight waves of monsters, chop trees and break rocks for what you need, take gifts from Norse gods and summon the island's boss when you are ready. After the boss comes the Last Stand, where monsters pour in until you fall and your best score becomes the record for that world.

    How it differs from Archero

Lootero is its own game with its own world and rules. Instead of a run through rooms, you explore a whole island: you gather, sell your loot at a stall and choose which piece to open next, and between worlds your hero earns talent points for three talent trees. It is our game, and it is not out yet: it comes to iPhone and Android in November 2026.

  3. Survivor!.io

    Made by
    Habby
    On phones
    2022 (worldwide)
    Platforms
    iPhone, Android
    Price
    Free, with in-app purchases

    Why you might like it

Survivor!.io comes from Habby, the studio behind Archero, and it shows in the skill picks and the way runs build up. You walk through huge crowds of monsters while your weapons fire on their own.

    How it differs from Archero

Your attacks fire whether you move or not, so it is about dodging through a crowd, not stopping to shoot. Fights are much bigger than Archero's rooms.

  4. Vampire Survivors

    Made by
    poncle
    On phones
    2022
    Platforms
iPhone, Android (also Apple Arcade as Vampire Survivors+)
    Price
Free, with optional ads and paid expansions

    Why you might like it

Vampire Survivors is the game that made horde survival games popular. Like Archero, each level-up gives you a choice, and the fun is watching your picks combine into something absurd by the end of a run.

    How it differs from Archero

You never aim or stop: weapons fire by themselves and you only move. On phones the base game is free with optional ads and no in-game shop, and the expansions are paid.

  5. Brotato

    Made by
Blobfish, published on phones by Erabit Studios
    On phones
    2023
    Platforms
    iPhone, Android
    Price
Free version, or Brotato: Premium ($4.99 on the US App Store)

    Why you might like it

Brotato packs a full run into short arena waves, with a shop between waves where you buy weapons and items. If you liked planning a build in Archero, the shop gives you more control over it.

    How it differs from Archero

It is a horde game: your weapons fire on their own while you move. You can play a free version or pay once for Brotato: Premium.

  6. 20 Minutes Till Dawn

    Made by
flanne, published on phones by Erabit Studios
    On phones
    2022
    Platforms
    iPhone, Android
    Price
Free version, or a paid Premium version

    Why you might like it

20 Minutes Till Dawn is a survival game with a darker look, where every run lasts until dawn and each level-up offers upgrades that stack into a build.

    How it differs from Archero

You aim your own gun, or switch on auto-aim. There is a free version and a paid Premium version.

  7. Halls of Torment

    Made by
Chasing Carrots, ported to phones by Erabit Studios
    On phones
    2024 (Premium), 2025 (free version)
    Platforms
    iPhone, Android
    Price
Free version, or Halls of Torment: Premium ($4.99 on the US App Store)

    Why you might like it

Halls of Torment looks like an old dungeon game from the late 1990s and plays like a horde survival game, with equipment and quests that carry over between runs.

    How it differs from Archero

It is slower and heavier than Archero, with more to read and plan. A paid Premium version came out on phones in 2024 and a free version followed in 2025.

  8. Soul Knight

    Made by
    ChillyRoom
    On phones
    2017
    Platforms
    iPhone, Android
    Price
    Free, with in-app purchases

    Why you might like it

Soul Knight is a pixel-art dungeon shooter with a huge number of heroes and weapons, and like Archero it is built around runs through rooms of enemies.

    How it differs from Archero

You attack with a button and the aim locks onto enemies, so you shoot while moving. It can be played offline, and you can play it with friends online or over a local network.

  9. Otherworld Legends

    Made by
    ChillyRoom
    On phones
    2020
    Platforms
    iPhone, Android
    Price
    Free, with in-app purchases

    Why you might like it

Otherworld Legends comes from ChillyRoom, the studio behind Soul Knight. It is a pixel roguelike with bigger, flashier fights.

    How it differs from Archero

It leans on close combat more than shooting, so it is the pick for players who want to get up close. It has online co-op for up to four players and offline single player.

  10. Magic Survival

    Made by
    LEME
    On phones
    2019
    Platforms
    Android
    Price
Free, with ads (a one-time purchase removes them)

    Why you might like it

Magic Survival is one of the earliest phone games in the horde survival style. You play a wizard surviving wave after wave, picking new spells as you level up.

    How it differs from Archero

Your spells fire on their own and you only move. We could only confirm it on Android.

What are games like Archero called?

People usually call them roguelites: action games where each run starts fresh, you pick upgrades as you go, and a little progress carries over between runs. Games where your weapons fire on their own while a huge crowd chases you, like Vampire Survivors and Survivor!.io, are often called survivors-likes or horde survival games. Archero sits between the two, because your archer only shoots when you stand still.

Are there games like Archero that are not pay to win?

Yes. Brotato, 20 Minutes Till Dawn and Halls of Torment each have a Premium version on the App Store that you buy once. Vampire Survivors is free on phones with optional ads, and its expansions add content, not power you have to buy to keep up.

Which game is most like Archero?

Archero 2, because it keeps the stop-to-shoot rule and the skill picks from the same studio. If you want an adventure instead, with islands to explore, gods to meet and a Last Stand after every boss, try Lootero, our own game, out in November 2026.
