Games like Enter the Gungeon on mobile

By the Lootero team. Published .

Enter the Gungeon has been on iPhone and Android since August 2025. It is free to try, and the full game costs $6.99 on the US App Store. If you have played it through, or you want more dodge rolling and strange guns on your phone, these are the seven games we would play next. Exit the Gungeon, the spin-off from the same makers, is the closest match and costs less. Soul Knight is the one to pick if you don't want to pay up front, and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has the most items to find. Gunfire Reborn gives you the same kind of runs as a first-person shooter, for up to four players.

Enter the Gungeon is a roguelite. Each attempt, called a run, takes you down through floors whose rooms are put together differently every time, with a boss at the end of each floor, and when you die you start a new run. It is also a bullet-hell game, which means enemies and bosses fill the screen with bullets for you to dodge. Most of the games below work the same way, and each card says when one doesn't. Five of them are on both iPhone and Android, while Isaac and Cult of the Lamb are on iPhone and iPad only. After the seven comes a card for Lootero, the game we are making, which has no price yet.

Short answer

  • Closest to the Gungeon, from the same makers: Exit the Gungeon, free to try, then $4.99 for the full game.
  • Free, with aiming done for you and online co-op: Soul Knight, free with ads and in-app purchases.
  • The most items and the strangest builds: The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, $14.99, on iPhone and iPad only.
  • The same kind of runs in first person, for up to four players: Gunfire Reborn, $6.99, with extra $1.99 bundles.
  • Guns and zombies on a road trip, with a group to keep alive: Death Road to Canada, $14.99 on iPhone and $9.99 on Android.
  • Bullet-hell bosses in one hand-made world, with no runs: Minishoot' Adventures, $5.99.
  • Runs through dungeons with a cult to manage between them: Cult of the Lamb, part of Apple Arcade at $6.99 a month.

Why you might like it

Exit the Gungeon is the spin-off of Enter the Gungeon, made by Dodge Roll together with Singlecore Games, and it picks up right after the first game. The Gungeon is collapsing, and its heroes have to escape upward, fighting on one lift after another as it climbs. You still dodge roll through bullets and fight the Gundead, the walking bullets and gun-shaped monsters of the first game, and their bosses, and the rooms, enemies and items change on every attempt. What changes most is your gun: it turns into a different weapon every so often, and the longer you keep killing without taking a hit, the better the chance that the next one is stronger.

How it differs from Enter the Gungeon

It is faster and smaller, and you fight your way up from one lift to the next instead of exploring floors, so there is much less wandering between fights. When you die you go back to the Underbreach, a safe hub where you buy items and switch heroes. On the App Store and Google Play it is free to try, and one $4.99 purchase buys the full game; the listing promises no gems, hearts or other currency. It is single-player only, and you can't save in the middle of a run and come back to it later. One App Store reviewer said a run can last more than half an hour, so start one when you have that much time. It was only on Apple Arcade from 2019 until August 2025, and one reviewer says their Apple Arcade progress didn't carry over to the new version. It works with PlayStation and Xbox controllers and with other controllers made for iPhone.

Why you might like it

Soul Knight is the free pick, and the one we would give a friend who found the Gungeon too hard. You raid dungeons that are put together differently each time, as one of more than 20 heroes, with over 400 weapons to find, from guns to swords and shovels. The aiming is done for you, so your thumbs are free for moving and firing, and the hard part is staying out of the way of the bullets.

How it differs from Enter the Gungeon

It is free, and it makes its money from ads and in-app purchases: the App Store sells some heroes for $0.99 to $1.99 and packs of gems, and Google Play gives a range of $0.99 to $25.99 per item. You can play co-op online with friends anywhere, or with friends on the same Wi-Fi without an internet connection, and the listing says the game itself can be played offline too. If it turns into your favourite, we wrote a whole list of games like Soul Knight on mobile.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Made by
Nicalis, designed by Edmund McMillen

Platforms

Price
$14.99 on the US App Store (expansions extra)
Official trailer from Nicalis, on YouTube.

Why you might like it

Isaac is the game to play next if your favourite part of the Gungeon is the items. It is a top-down game where you play Isaac, a boy who hides in the basement after his mother hears a voice telling her to sacrifice him, and who fights his way through rooms of monsters by firing his tears at them. The rooms are put together differently every run, and the listing counts more than 450 items, which change how Isaac looks and what he can do, so two items found together can turn a run into something you have never seen.

How it differs from Enter the Gungeon

It is darker and stranger, and the App Store rates it 17+. Death ends the run, but you can save in the middle of one, which is handy on a phone, and finishing runs opens up more characters to play (the listing counts 10). It costs $14.99 on the US App Store, and the expansions are extra: Afterbirth, Afterbirth+ and Repentance cost $14.99 each, or $39.99 for all three. We found it on iPhone and iPad only, with no Android version. It has local co-op for two players on one device and works with PlayStation, Xbox and other phone controllers.

Gunfire Reborn

Platforms

Price
$6.99 on the US App Store, with $1.99 bundles on top
Official trailer from Duoyi Games, on YouTube.

Why you might like it

If you love building a run around the guns you find, Gunfire Reborn gives you that as a first-person shooter. You pick a hero and fight through four acts of random levels, buying and finding weapons and Occult Scrolls, which change how your attacks work, and levelling up your favourite guns along the way. It plays alone or with up to four players, and Pocket Tactics wrote at launch that enemies get tougher as more players join. Its App Store listing has 4.6 out of 5 from 725 ratings.

How it differs from Enter the Gungeon

You see the fight through your hero's eyes in a simple, blocky 3D world, so it feels like a console shooter more than a top-down one. Pocket Tactics wrote that the phone version added automatic fire to weapons, so you can concentrate on aiming. It costs $6.99 on both stores, and the listing says that price includes all four acts and three starting heroes. Pocket Tactics counted six heroes when it reached phones in 2022. We couldn't find out how you get the other heroes on phones: both stores sell nine bundles at $1.99 each without saying what is in them, and the launch coverage we read doesn't say either, so count on the $6.99 buying you three. Reviews disagree about playing offline: an App Store reviewer wrote in 2023 that it wouldn't play offline, and a Google Play reviewer wrote in 2024 that it does, once you have logged in with a connection. It supports PlayStation and Xbox controllers.

Death Road to Canada

Made by
Rocketcat Games and Madgarden
On phones
2017
Platforms
iPhone, Android
Price
$14.99 on the US App Store, $9.99 on Google Play, paid once
Official trailer from Rocketcat Games, on YouTube.

Why you might like it

Death Road to Canada keeps the top-down fighting and the runs that are different every time, and turns them into a road trip. You lead a car full of survivors from Florida to Canada during a zombie outbreak, searching buildings for supplies and fighting off crowds of zombies with whatever you find, from a flamethrower or a minigun to a hockey stick. Between stops, text events ask you to make choices that help or hurt your group.

How it differs from Enter the Gungeon

It is about keeping a group alive more than mastering one hero. Everything on the trip is random, down to the survivors' personalities, anyone in the car can die for good, and in sieges your group has to hold out against a growing horde for a set time. The Character Maker lets you put your friends into the game. Friends can also play it with you on the same screen, each with their own game controller, as the update notes from May 2021 describe. TouchArcade gave it 5 out of 5. It costs $14.99 on the US App Store, the same as Isaac, but $9.99 on Google Play, and neither store lists in-app purchases. The iPhone version was last updated in October 2022 and still has 4.7 out of 5 from about 1,300 ratings.

Minishoot’ Adventures

Made by
SoulGame Studio, published by IndieArk
On phones
2026
Platforms
iPhone, Android
Price
$5.99 on the US App Store and Google Play, paid once
Official trailer from SoulGame, on YouTube.

Why you might like it

Minishoot' Adventures is for the Gungeon player who likes the boss fights best. It is a twin-stick shooter: you fly a small spaceship around a hand-made world, with one stick to move and the other to aim, and its dungeons end in bullet-hell bosses. On phones it works with touch controls or a game controller. It came out on PC in 2024, where IGN gave it 9 out of 10, and reached iPhone and Android on 21 May 2026.

How it differs from Enter the Gungeon

It has no runs. The world stays the same, and you open it up by finding upgrades for your ship that let you reach new places, much like exploring in a Zelda game. You play it through once, and Pure Nintendo's review called it "a fun way to spend 10 hours or so". It is single-player and costs $5.99 on both stores with no in-app purchases listed, and the App Store listing asks for a device with about 1.6 GB of RAM.

Cult of the Lamb

Made by
Massive Monster, published by Devolver Digital
On phones
2025
Platforms
iPhone and iPad (Apple Arcade)
Price
Included with Apple Arcade ($6.99 a month in the US)
Official trailer from DevolverDigital, on YouTube.

Why you might like it

If you played the phone version of Enter the Gungeon when it came out, you may already have met the Lamb, the hero of Cult of the Lamb, who was added there as a playable character. In its own game, the Lamb goes on crusades through randomly generated regions, which play much like Gungeon runs, and comes home to build a cult of woodland followers. Shacknews found the weapons mostly limited to axes, swords and claws, all fought up close, and the curses, the Lamb's special attacks, much more varied.

How it differs from Enter the Gungeon

Half the game happens between runs: you build structures and give sermons, and the followers you put to work help you on your crusades in return. On phones it is only on Apple Arcade, Apple's game subscription, which costs $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US, and we found no Android version. The Arcade Edition came out in December 2025 with every expansion released by then, and its listing now includes Woolhaven, the expansion from January 2026. It has local co-op: a second player joins as the Goat, a second hero who fights next to the Lamb. Its App Store rating is 3.8 out of 5, and several of the newest reviews report bugs in the Woolhaven part, such as a boss that can't be finished.

Lootero

Our game
Made by
Lootero (that is us)
On phones
Coming November 2026 (not out yet)
Platforms
iPhone, Android
Price
Not announced yet
Stop, and your bow does the rest: filmed in Lootero.

Why you might like it

Lootero is our game, so read this card as our own pitch. It is further from the Gungeon than anything above: you don't aim and you don't dodge roll. It might still be for you if your favourite part of the Gungeon is picking upgrades during a run and building up a strong character. You play a young archer on floating islands. You open each island one piece at a time with the coins you earn, and some pieces seal you in with waves of slimes, bats and golems. Every level-up deals you three upgrade cards, such as extra arrows, piercing shots or fire arrows, and after every second fight a Norse god appears at a shrine and offers three of their own powers.

How it differs from Enter the Gungeon

You move with one thumb, and the moment you stand still, your archer fires at whatever is closest, a tree, a rock or a monster, and everything you hit drops something. Each of the 55 worlds keeps the same island shape every time you play it, while the cards you are dealt and the loot you find change on each attempt, and every world ends with a boss you summon when you are ready. If you lose a world, you keep the hero experience and the items you found. Each hero level gives you a talent point to spend on lasting bonuses, such as more damage, faster shots or more health. It is single-player and comes to iPhone and Android in November 2026. We haven't announced its price yet, or whether it will be paid or free to download, so we can't tell you yet whether it will have ads or in-app purchases.

Is Enter the Gungeon on mobile?

Yes, Enter the Gungeon is on phones. It came to iPhone and Android on 14 August 2025, together with Exit the Gungeon, and Devolver Digital published both. Both are free to download, and the full Enter the Gungeon costs one $6.99 purchase on the US App Store and on Google Play. The phone version came with touch controls made for it, online co-op, which players had long asked for, and a new playable hero, the Lamb from Cult of the Lamb.

Its App Store rating is 3.7 out of 5, the lowest of any game on this list (Cult of the Lamb is next at 3.8, and the rest are between 4.2 and 4.8), and the reviews explain why: several are about bugs, including runs lost when the game restarted after a few seconds in the background. A May 2026 update fixed save bugs that lost progress and items, and one reviewer who had given it one star changed it to five after that update.

Games like Enter the Gungeon and The Binding of Isaac

If you like both, Soul Knight is the game on this list that sits closest to the two of them: it has the Gungeon's guns and bullets, rooms to clear one after another like Isaac, and even more weapons than the Gungeon (over 400, against more than 200), in dungeons that are easier to get into. Exit the Gungeon is the pick if you want more of the Gungeon itself. If you have only played the Gungeon so far, Isaac is the one to try next, for its rooms and its items that stack into odd builds.

Games like Enter the Gungeon with co-op

Enter the Gungeon itself now has online co-op on phones. Among the games above, Soul Knight has online co-op and co-op over the same Wi-Fi, and Gunfire Reborn takes up to four players. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has local co-op for two, Death Road to Canada lets friends join on the same screen with controllers, and Cult of the Lamb lets a second player join as the Goat. Exit the Gungeon, Minishoot' Adventures and Lootero are single-player.

Which games like Enter the Gungeon can you buy once?

Death Road to Canada and Minishoot' Adventures are one purchase on both stores with no in-app purchases listed. Exit the Gungeon is free to try with one purchase for the rest, and the same goes for Enter the Gungeon. Isaac's expansions and Gunfire Reborn's bundles cost extra, Soul Knight is free with ads and purchases, and Cult of the Lamb comes with an Apple Arcade subscription. These are the prices on 31 October 2026:

GameUS App StoreGoogle Play
